Boulder voters overwhelmingly pass Capital Improvement Tax Extension: 13 different projects will share in the revenue of the 4-year tax by Alex Burness, Daily Camera 11/7/2017
"Together, let's renew our support for Boulder's emergency services, arts & culture, and community facilities - for all of us!" - Lynn Guissinger, Chair
Vote YES on 2M & 2N to help shore up needed SAFETY services, enhance Boulder’s CULTURAL amenities and broaden the reach of COMMUNITY facilities.
In 2014 voters approved a three-year tax of three cents on a ten dollar purchase for capital investments in community, culture and safety. The revenue funded improvements to University Hill, Chautauqua, the Dairy Arts Center, the Museum of Boulder and the Civic Center that have amplified Boulder’s cultural vibrancy, improved our quality of life, and enhanced economic vitality.
- 2M does NOT increase taxes, it simply extends this small tax through 2021. Funds will support greatly needed capital projects that benefit a broad cross-section of the community.
- 2N is the bonding authority allowing shovel ready projects to start right away while funds from 2M accrue. By starting earlier, the community could save money on rising construction costs, and enjoy the benefits of these facilities sooner.
- 2M & 2N represent a wise investment in our community. The Project package was selected by a citizen committee and Boulder City Council in open project with rigorous requirements, including a matching funds criteria for the non-profits selected.
Let's build on the success of the 2014 Community, Culture and Safety tax. Please vote yes on 2M & 2N. Follow the links below to learn more about the projects included for Boulder's:
